The three children called Dastvaré died in front of the Iran-Iraq War, 19, 22 and 27 years. They died as martyrs and this is how Iran has celebrated: their story has been relayed by all the institutions dedicated to the martyrs of the war. In Tehran, in their neighborhood, a mural was done in their memory. Three faces of the hundreds of frescoes of martyrs of the city. The film follows the story of the fresco, then and now. The story and the great: the bitterness of the parents, the relative indifference of the locals, the cynicism of the official institutions … With this mural, we trace the history of a recovery, that of an individual drama in the service of state ideology, and thus reveal the disappointment surrounding the exalted ideals yesterday by three faces.

What the public knows of the Islamic Republic of Iran? How the leaders of the country impose their rules politico-economic to the population, since the fall of the Shah in 1979? This survey investigation has as its starting point a series of murders of intellectuals in autumn 1998 in Tehran. The people revolted. A month later, for the first time, the Iranian Ministry of Information and Security admits its responsibility. The film describes the tactics used by the Iranian authorities to ensure that sponsors are not appointed, the Ayatollahs in power, who launched the death fatwa against intellectuals, opponents. The film follows closely the difficult struggle of the families of victims, for the executors and the murders are reported. The Military Tribunal of Tehran, in a closed trial, judge and condemn some simple agents of the Ministry of Information and Security. The families of the victims are boycotting the trial. Today, they continue their struggle to lead the « real culprits » before a competent and independent judiciary.

Les trois enfants Dastvaré sont morts au front de la guerre Iran Irak, à 19, 22 et 27 ans. Ils sont morts en martyrs et c’est bien ainsi que l’Iran les a célébrés : leur histoire a été relayée par toutes les institutions consacrées aux martyrs de la guerre. A Téhéran, dans leur quartier, une peinture murale a été réalisée en leur mémoire. Trois visages parmi les centaines de fresques de martyrs de la ville. Le film suit l’histoire de cette fresque, d’hier à aujourd’hui. La petite histoire et la grande : l’amertume des parents, la relative indifférence des gens du quartier, le cynisme des institutions officielles… Avec cette fresque, nous voulons retracer l’histoire d’une récupération, celle d’un drame individuel au service d’une idéologie d’Etat, et révéler ainsi la désillusion qui entoure les idéaux hier exaltés par ces trois visages.

Que connaît le public de la République islamique d’Iran ? Comment les dirigeants du pays imposent-ils leurs règles politico-économiques à la population, depuis la chute du Shah en 1979 ? Cette enquête d’investigation a pour point de départ une série d’assassinats d’intellectuels à l’automne 1998 à Téhéran. La population se révolte. Un mois plus tard, pour la première fois, le Ministère iranien de l’information et de la sécurité avoue sa responsabilité. Le film décrit les tactiques employées par les autorités iraniennes pour que les commanditaires ne soient pas nommés : les Ayatollahs au pouvoir, qui ont lancé la Fatwa à mort à l’encontre des intellectuels-opposants. Le film suit de près le difficile combat des familles des victimes, pour que les exécuteurs et les commanditaires des assassinats soient dénoncés. Le Tribunal militaire de Téhéran, dans un procès à huis clos, juge et condamne quelques simples agents du Ministère de l’information et de la sécurité. Les familles des victimes boycottent le procès. Aujourd’hui, elles continuent leur combat pour mener les «vrais responsables» devant une justice indépendante et compétente.
