The controversy did not take long to emerge after arrival on French soil of the young scholar about the conditions of his release by the Iranian regime or its possible membership in the DGSE. A return that has also fueled suspicions of exchange for two Iranian engineers were detained in France.

The young woman of 24 years, selected for having participated in anti-government protests in June 2009, was able to leave Iran after a ruling ordering it Saturday for a fine of 285,000 dollars (230,000 euros). Les polémiques n’ont pas tardé à se faire jour après l’arrivée sur le sol français de la jeune universitaire quant aux conditions de sa libération par les autorités iraniennes ou sa possible appartenance à la DGSE. Un retour qui a également ravivé des soupçons d’échange avec deux ingénieurs iraniens détenus en France.

La Française Clotilde Reiss est arrivée dimanche à l’aéroport de Villacoublay (Yvelines). La jeune femme de 24 ans, retenue pour avoir participé à des manifestations anti-gouvernementales en juin 2009, a pu quitter l’Iran après un jugement la condamnant samedi à une  amende de 285 000 dollars (230 000 euros). Elle a été reçue dans la foulée à l’Elysée par Nicolas Sarkozy, qu’elle a remercié pour avoir « défendu »  son « innocence ». Le chef de l’Etat, qui n’est apparu à aucun moment devant les photographes, a pour sa part remercié les présidents sénégalais, brésilien et syrien pour leur « rôle actif » dans ce dossier.
